Beneath the bridge (Print 2438009)
For size information please see our Print Product Guide.
It's 1969, and, believe it or not, we're on Argyle Street, beneath the Kingston Bridge. That's the towers of the old Anderston Centre rising in the distance
We forget now just what a kerfuffle the building of the M8 caused, and just how much the city lost to the construction of the concrete artery. Large chunks of old Anderston and Charing Cross disappeared in clouds of rubble dust, with the west of Glasgow permanently severed from the city centre by a tarmac scar.
Please note that framed prints are only available for pick up from The Herald offices: 200 Renfield Street, Glasgow G2 3QB.
