C'mon, get aff! Move right up the caur, please...It's 1962, and Glasgow is about to bid farewell to its much-loved tram system - they would be withdrawn from service later that year. These commuters are boarding in Argyle Street - that's the foot of Buchanan Street in the background, with the Art Deco former Burton's store behind the tram.In all our misty-eyed nostalgia for the trams, we always forget one of their drawbacks; that you had to dodge traffic to get into the middle of the street to climb aboard.
Please note that framed prints are only available for pick up from The Herald offices: 200 Renfield Street, Glasgow G2 3QB.
UK Delivery is available on our ready-to-frame mounted prints, which are designed to fit standard frame sizes.
