It's a sunny 1960's Fair Saturday, and there's a one-man queue for the paddle boats at Victoria Park pond.
For those wee ones left at home while their pals went off doon the watter for their hols, they had to make do with a splash around the pond. Okay, so it's not quite Largs or Rothesay, but, with a little imagination, they could have been sailing on the Spanish Main, or exploring the upper reaches of the Mohawk River.
