The original Kelvin Hall, built in 1918, went up in smoke in 1925 - clearing the way for the Hall that we all know today.

The blaze was filmed by a crew from Green's newsreel company (the same film family who owned Green's Playhouse - later the Apollo), meaning curious Glaswegians could see the inferno, and its aftermath, on the big screen.
